Dutch net salary calculator 2026

Enter your gross monthly or yearly salary and see what reaches your bank account in the Netherlands. The calculator applies the 2026 box 1 brackets and both tax credits, with or without the 8% holiday allowance.

How the calculator works

Worked example 2026

A gross salary of EUR 3,500 a month with holiday allowance is EUR 45,360 a year. Payroll tax after both credits comes to EUR 8,538, an average rate of 18.8%. That leaves about EUR 3,069 net per month, averaged over the year.

Why your payslip can differ

Your employer also withholds your own pension contribution, which lowers the taxable wage, and often taxes the holiday allowance and bonuses at a special rate during the year. Those differences are settled in the annual income tax return. If you have the 30% ruling, 30% of your pay can be untaxed; use the 30% ruling calculator for that. Rates and thresholds are indexed every year. The calculator uses the published 2026 figures; check the Belastingdienst for your own tax year before you act on a result.

Frequently asked questions

How much is EUR 3,500 gross in net salary in the Netherlands?

In 2026, EUR 3,500 gross a month including 8% holiday allowance leaves about EUR 3,069 net per month on average, before any pension contribution your employer withholds.

Does this calculator work for freelancers?

No. A freelancer (zzp'er) has profit instead of a wage, with the entrepreneur deductions, the SME profit exemption and an own healthcare contribution. Use the Dutch freelancer net income calculator for that.

What changes after state pension (AOW) age?

The first bracket rate is lower because the AOW premium falls away, and both tax credits are lower. Tick the AOW option and the calculator uses those tables.
