Taxmo API

A REST API for your own bookkeeping data

Taxmo has a REST API for programmatic access to a user's own account: bookkeeping entries, invoices, VAT filings and annual summaries. It is authenticated with scoped API keys and available on the Pro plan (EUR 22.99/month). This is separate from the open, unauthenticated tax-data and calculator MCP tools at /open-data, which need no account.

Authentication

Every request needs an API key in the X-API-Key header. Keys are created on the API Access page inside a Pro account (/api-access) and only carry the scopes assigned to them at creation.

Scopes

• read: profile access; also satisfies every endpoint below
• entries: read bookkeeping entries
• invoices: read invoices
• reports: read filings and annual summaries
• write: reserved for future write endpoints

Endpoints

• GET /api/v1/entries (scope: entries) - list bookkeeping entries, optionally filtered by quarter and year
• GET /api/v1/profile (scope: read) - get the business profile
• GET /api/v1/invoices (scope: invoices) - list invoices
• GET /api/v1/filings/:quarter/:year (scope: reports) - get the VAT filing for a quarter
• GET /api/v1/summary/:year (scope: reports) - annual summary: revenue, expenses and VAT per quarter
